AltCity and Techstars join forces to bring the first LAUNCH Summit to Lebanon. AltCity has joined forces with Berytech, Torch Academy, UNICEF, Smart ESA (and ESA), Al Mawarid Bank and a host of more than 40 regional tech influencers to introduce LAUNCH Summit, an earlystage startup conference targeting the general public in the MENA region. The summit will take place on September 22, 2016, at the École supérieure des affaires (ESA) in Clemenceau, Beirut.

The summit is designed to be of utmost value to midcareer professionals and senior specialists looking to transform their ideas and prototypes to disruptive startups. LAUNCH will connect engineers, biologists, artists, psychologists and virtually attendees from all majors with likeminded entrepreneurs who have harnessed the power of tech to create startups disrupting their own industry.

Organized in partnership with Techstars, the world’s leading accelerator, LAUNCH will take networking to a whole new level by creating a simple yet strategically holistic roadmap to guide discussions between the speakers and the attendees. High profile speakers will include Asmahan Zein, CEO of infoFort and former Regional Country Manager at Aramex, Tarek Sadi, Managing Director of Endeavor Lebanon, Henri Asseily, serial investor and Partner at Leap Venture, and former Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui. The heads of the Techstars team such as Jose Iglesias and Oko Davaasuren will also be on board to share their knowledge and expertise on the EuroMENA ecosystem.

The conference will be a wellrounded experience consisting of lightning talks on current innovations and future trends, exclusive workshops, speedmentorship activities, sector analysis group sessions, matchmaking activities, startup pitches, and highend networking opportunities at industry specific community tables. The ultimate aim is to help entrepreneurs make the first critical steps in the startup world by grouping them with thought leaders willing to mentor them on market research, product development, pitching, and funding. This way, we can create a community to solve critical local, regional, and global challenges today.
