Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), an international financial center located in Abu Dhabi, and KPMG, a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, have come together to launch the very first Fintech Abu Dhabi Innovation Challenge as part of their upcoming Fintech event on October 22nd and 23rd.

The Fintech Abu Dhabi event is a platform for financial institutions, fintech startups and participants, investors, regulatory agencies and the business community to network, collaborate and exchange knowledge in fintech developments in Abu Dhabi, the wider MEASA region and on an international level. The event will include a Summit, Innovation Challenge, Demo Day, and Fintech awards presentation.

The Innovation Challenge is an intensive 5-week program, commencing on September 17th, during which 10 startups will work on developing market-ready solutions to specific problem statements divided into 6 focus areas: Financial and Investment Management, Financial Inclusions, RegTech, Trade Finance, InsurTech and Private Capital Markets.

During the Innovation challenge, startups will benefit from sessions such as startup initiation and mentoring sessions, will have the opportunity to enter or expand into the MEASA financial services sector, will have access to guidance and support from industry leaders, experts, and regulatory authorities as well as fast-tracked consideration for admission to ADGM’s Regulatory Laboratory (RegLab) program. Each finalist will receive a $15K cash stipend to cover any costs associated with travel matters and/or accommodation.

The program will culminate in a Demo Day, where finalists will showcase their innovative solutions to a panel of industry experts. The two selected winners will get the opportunity to demonstrate their solutions at the upcoming Global Fintech Hackcelerator in Singapore in November.
