ArabNet Beirut 2017: A Drumroll for The Winners
ArabNet’s signature competitions, the Startup Battle and Ideathon, took place yesterday at this year’s ArabNet Beirut conference.
Both competitions serve as platforms to find and support talented entrepreneurs early on. They also help connect entrepreneurs to leaders in the industry.
And now, it is time to announce this year’s winners picked by ArabNet’s panel of judges.
Startup Battle Winners
Yesterday, 10 entrepreneurs took to the stage at the Startup Battle and presented their startups in front of a panel of high caliber judges and an audience of investors, media, and entrepreneurs. Our judges picked the top 3; here’s the list:
1st Place Vision in Motion
Samy El Khoury, (Lebanon) - Vision in Motion is a software-based platform for businesses to monitor, track and analyze customer behavioral patterns. It uses image processing and computer vision technology.
2nd Place Synkers
Audrey Nakad, (Lebanon) - Synkers is a mobile platform that connects students and tutors. Students or their guardians can search for a tutor online and book.
3rd Place Blink My Car
Rami Hallal, (Lebanon) - Blink My Car is an on-demand car care platform that connects users to professionals, bringing the car wash and maintenance shop to the user’s parking spot.
Winners of the ArabNet Beirut 2017 Startup Battle will have booths during the ArabNet Digital Summit 2017 in Dubai. There, they will have the chance to compete in the ArabNet Startup Championship.
10 aspiring entrepreneurs also had the chance to pitch their ideas at ArabNet Beirut in front of the judges and crowd. Here are the ArabNet Beirut 2017 winning ideas:
1st Place E-Rush
Alaa Salam, (Lebanon) - Developed by the E-GHATHA team, E-Rush is a responsive web app that allocates patients to available emergency care beds.
2nd Place Bubblicious
Maroun Chahine, (Lebanon): Bubbalicious is an online platform for the wedding planning industry.
3rd Place Friendly Car
Abdelrahman Elgamal, (UAE) - FriendyCar is a for a website for borrowing and lending cars serving the Middle East area.
Winners will receive cash prizes to help built their idea into a functioning startup.
