ArabWIC International Conference 5th Edition Kicks Off on August 10th

The 5th edition of ArabWIC Annual International Conference on Arab Women in Computing/Tech will kick off on August 10th and end on the 12th. Held at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the 2-day conference will conclude with a 3-day tour around Lebanon. The conference is organized by ArabWIC along with AUB CS department, ArabNet, Lebanese League for Women in Business, Wamda, and Zoomaal.

The 5th edition of ArabWIC is focused on supporting and celebrating women within the global tech ecosystem. Over 500 participants from across the world and from all technology sectors (academics, students, professionals, VC’s, and entrepreneurs) are expected to attend the conference.  

The event will shed light on the latest innovations and trends in the world of technology and computing; it will also touch on topics related to womenpreneurs and their role in the tech startups ecosystem and the rise of VCs in the region.  

The conference will also discuss women’s enrollment in computer science courses, their involvement in industry and academia, gender gaps, positive trends as well as barriers in the field will all be examined.

On another note, the event will feature renowned technical researchers, keynote talks, interactive technical workshops, hackathons, mentoring sessions, networking, career coaching for all levels, a career fair featuring top tech companies, and a gala to celebrate women in technology.
