Meet the Startup Battle and Ideathon Winners at ArabNet Kuwait 2017
ArabNet’s signature competitions, the Startup Battle and Ideathon, took place this past Wednesday at the ArabNet Kuwait conference.
Both competitions serve as platforms to find and support talented entrepreneurs and help connect them to industry leaders, experts and investors.
Startup Battle Winners
5 entrepreneurs took to the stage at the Startup Battle in Kuwait, sponsored by KuwaitNet, and presented their startups in front of a panel of high caliber judges as well as an audience of investors, media, and entrepreneurs. Here are the winners:
1st Place Orddr
Entrepreneur – Naser Al-Qatami, Country – Kuwait
Orddr is the first Kuwaiti B2B platform that connects food suppliers to restaurants and gives them the tools to manage their business and streamline operations.
2nd Place Festivity
Entrepreneur – Nasser Altowaijri, Country – Kuwait
Festivity is an online destination and marketplace delivering event and gathering services.
3rd Place PantryBee
Entrepreneur – Yousef Almunayes & Hind Al-Awadi , Country – Kuwait
PantryBee deliver fresh pre-portioned ingredients and visual step-by-step recipe cards, so customers can make amazing hassle-free meals right at home.
People’s Choice Award Nabta Health
Entrepreneur – Sophie Smith, Country – Kuwait
Nabta Health is the world's first digital woman's health application focused on emerging markets in the Arab world.
Winners of the ArabNet Kuwait 2017 Startup Battle will have booths at the ArabNet Digital Summit 2018 in Dubai and will have the chance to compete in the ArabNet Startup Championship.
5 aspiring entrepreneurs also had the chance to pitch their ideas at ArabNet Beirut in front of the judges and crowd. Here are the ArabNet Kuwait 2017 Ideathon winners:
1st Place Tabb
Entrepreneur – Yong Joon Rhee, Country – Kuwait
Tabb is a full-suite restaurant solution for wait-free dining.
People’s Choice Awards Craftat
Entrepreneur – Mubarak AlRashidi, Country – Kuwait
Craftat is an optimized web-based platform that will be available on multiple devices to provide solutions for home-based businesses, crafts people and artists to connect them to customers in more productive ways.
Ideathon Winner, Yong Joon Rhee, won $5K to develop his idea into a functioning startup.
