MITEF Arab Startup Competition’s Winners Announced
74 teams from 11 Arab countries competed in the MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Arab Startup Competition that kicked off on April 25 and concluded on the 27th. The competition that was held in Bahrain’s International Circuit, was celebrating its 10-year anniversary and was organized in partnership with Community Jameel, Zain Group, and Tamkeen.
The 3-day event closed on an award ceremony during which the winners were announced; three teams were awarded for three different tracks – idea, startups, and social entrepreneurship. Aside from the monetary rewards – that reached $160K in total- the winners will benefit from advanced training sessions, personal mentorship and guidance, as well as media exposure, and excellent networking opportunities.
Prior to introducing the winners, it is important to mention that the 74 semi-finalists had to attend a pre-bootcamp and go through rounds of training before presenting their idea to the jury that was formed of the Arab world’s key investors.
