Sihatech Wins ArabNet Startup Championship

18 startups competed today at ArabNet Digital Summit Dubai during the Startup Championship. Coming from Kuwait, Riyadh, Beirut, Cairo, Casablanca, and Dubai, the startups were selected to compete in the championship further to winning previous Startup Battles in the aforementioned countries. They are: MeddySoukDesigner, Pricinity, Sihatech, Spoilee, Cura, Vision in Motion, Synkers, Blink My Car, WideBot, mumm, dotMeta , SOS Santé, Koolna, Ivendi.ma , NOW Money, FriendyCar, and  Wenaak.

The competitors took on the stage and pitched their startup to a panel of stellar professionals and leaders in the tech and digital industry. They had 5 minutes to explain to the judges why they should be declared winner and seize the final prize - a $20K cash prize, a scholarship to participate in the Blackbox Connect program in Silicon Valley, and other in-kind prizes from partners.

5 startups out of 18 were selected for the final pitch round – WideBot, Sihatech, Vision in Motion, NOW Money, and mumm.

Subsequent to a fierce competition and to two rounds of well-constructed pitches, the judges finally made their decision.

So, without further ado, meet the Championship’s winners!

In first place - SihatechWorking for a Better Healthcare Quality
Entrepreneur – Ahmed Al Bader, Country – KSA
The platform is a provider of a technology solutions to the healthcare space to improve the access, accountability, and quality in healthcare.

In second place - NOW MoneyMobile Banking for Low-Income Workers
Entrepreneur
– Katharine Budd, Country – UAE
Targeted to low-income workers who are excluded from GCC’s financial system, NOW Money is a full mobile banking experience – it’s mainly focused on banking and remittance services. It allows its users to access multiple exchange providers, pay utility bills, purchase mobile phone credit, and more. It also works as a fully operational card for POS and ATM withdrawals.

In third place – WideBotIntelligent Chatbots
Entrepreneur –Mohamed Nabil, Country – Egypt
Requiring no coding or technical background, WideBot allows users to leverage chat bots to transfigure the food ordering process; its framework provides a broader array of intelligent services, including artificially intelligent modules that give bots a unique and smart personality.
