Meet the First Batch of Startups at the Digital Showcase - ArabNet Digital Summit 2016
2 things make ArabNet conferences stand out from other events: First, the caliber of the speakers and talks; second, the dynamic opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs.
The Digital Showcase is definitely one of the highlights of our conferences, where participating startups can benefit from optimal exposure at the early stages of their development.
Held in Dubai, the region’s most important digital market, ArabNet Digital Summit presents a particularly attractive platform for networking and building relationships with big clients and strategic partners. Last year, the event hosted 285 meetings between the participating startups and industry leaders, and a further 43 meetings were scheduled after the event (involving 65% of the startups).
This year’s Digital Showcase is featuring 18 startups including marketplaces, platforms, tools, software solutions, digital media, and much more.

Startups Supported by ArabNet
- ChefXChange (UAE)
Through the ChefXChange platform, customers can book a private chef to cook and serve specialty dishes at their events. The platform covers Dubai, Washington DC, London, and Beirut, for now, with over 300 verified chefs proposing menus from a variety of cuisines. The platform won 1st Place at the Startup Demo during ArabNet Beirut 2016.
- Non Edu (Saudi Arabia)
Non Edu is an online social learning company that combines gamification with personalized, adaptive learning-based test prep programs. Currently, Non prepares students for the Qiyas standardized high school exams in Saudi Arabia. Since its launch, over 430,000 people have used the platform. The platform won 1st Place at the Startup Demo during ArabNet Riyadh 2015.
- ReAble (Lebanon)
The 3rd place winner of the Startup Demo at ArabNet Beirut 2016, ReAble builds apps and tools for people with special needs to help them better integrate into society. Their first app, the ReAble Wallet, allows people with cognitive challenges to conduct transactions, manage their finances, and access banking services in a seamless and simple manner. The team is currently part of the Barclays Techstars Accelerator, working with Barclays to integrate the app into their Banking system.
- Sympaticus (Lebanon)
Built & operated by doctors and psychologists, the Sympaticus app offers a confidential, affordable, and clear therapy platform for users seeking personal advice and guidance without the hassle of booking/missing appointments and compiling additional stress. The app won 2nd Place at the Startup Demo during ArabNet Beirut 2016.
The Trieval app manages photos and creates albums to arrange them automatically and effortlessly. It analyzes connections between details in different photos, then automatically groups similar photos together and saves them inside “Smart Albums”.

In March 2016, BECO Capital announced it would sponsor 2 MENA digital and tech startups to attend the Digital Showcase. After screening applications, the VC firm has just selected the winners:
- Jubna (UAE)
Jubna recommends Arabic content through unique sponsored content ads across more than 300 Arabic sites, offering advertisers the possibility to reach thousands of active visitors every day.
- Marn Tech (Saudi Arabia)
Marn Tech’s easy-to-use POS software allows small and medium business owners to manage their sales and track inventory - even CRM with real-time analytics - as well as electronic billing. It will soon add new features like accounting and others.

- The Luxury Closet (UAE)
The Luxury Closet is the Middle East’s largest online marketplace to buy and sell authentic pre-owned personal luxury items at reduced prices, including designer brands like Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Rolex, to name a few. In addition to MEVP, the platform is backed by Wamda Capital, TwoFour54, and Dubai Silicon Oasis Capital.
- YouGotaGift.com (UAE)
YouGotaGift is the MENA’s only online mall for gift cards and wedding registries. This solution has been adopted by major customer loyalty programs across leading telcos, banks, and airlines, delivering the widest choice of rewards and efficient customer service.

- Geeks Valley (Saudi Arabia)
Geeks Valley supports the maker movement in the MENA by providing an online learning platform with free online tutorials adapted to all ages for different electronic projects. It also conducts offline workshops and after school programs. The platform doubles as an e-store that sells all makers’ needs.
